Carolyn Hunt is a Berkeley-based healer and ordained Wiccan priestess with a terrific sense of humor and a grounded approach to her work. She is dedicated to compassionate listening, community building, and the power of ritual to create personal and global transformation. She convenes sacred circles in which to share feelings, release confusion, articulate grand visions, commit to change, and celebrate abundance.
Carolyn was ordained at the Artemis Institute in Sebastopol in 2000 by Felicity Artemis Flowers (who was trained by Ruth Barrett, who was trained by Z. Budapest). She holds a BA in women’s studies from Carleton College and an MPA from the University of Rhode Island, and is the recipient of several national fellowships in women’s and ethnic studies. She has facilitated weddings, commitment ceremonies, baby blessings, house cleansings, seasonal rituals, and a variety of workshops in California and the east coast. For more than 10 years, she has volunteered as a Therapeutic Imagery Practitioner at Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic (for low income women with cancer) in Oakland. She is a long-term member of the Wyrd Sisters coven (based in Sonoma County) and lives in Berkeley with her soulmate, the activist Cecilie Surasky, and their 7 year old son.
